A home in the hills, with the whole range on its doorstep
Lap of Himalayas sits on a quiet green slope just beyond Kausani, the hill town famously dubbed the “Switzerland of India” after Mahatma Gandhi’s stay in 1929. On a clear morning the snow line stretches across the horizon, and every room is turned to face it.
We are a small, family-run resort, and we like it that way. Days here move at mountain pace: chai on the balcony as the peaks turn pink, a walk through our tea garden and orchard, home-cooked Kumaoni food, and an evening bonfire under more stars than you knew existed. Guests often tell us it feels less like a hotel and more like coming home — that is the nicest thing anyone can say.
